Help Us Do More

For 20 years the WRRC, as a peak body has provided vital support, advice and information to refuges, government, media, community groups and the general public in relation to issues affecting women and children experiencing/escaping domestic and family violence and issues affecting domestic violence services and service provision.
The WRRC advocates on behalf of the NSW Women’s Refuge Movement (WRM), a network of 56 member women and children’s refuges, to improve responses and safety for women and children escaping domestic violence.
The WRRC provides resources and support to its member women and children’s refuges across NSW. The WRRC undertakes projects to support the work of refuges and the systems they operate in, including:
- Improving service responses
- Police and courts
- Legal
- Housing
- Children
- Health, including mental health
- Standards of service delivery
There are currently two permanent positions at the WRRC: the Executive Officer and the Admin Officer. The Executive Officer position is funded by the Department of Community Services, while the Admin Position is predominantly funded through membership levies. The position of Project and Policy Officer is only temporarily funded. The WRRC needs funding to secure more permanent staffing arrangements and resources to continue to advocate for the safety of women and children escaping domestic violence and provide support, resources, information and advice.
By making a donation to the WRM, you will be directly supporting projects aimed at improving service provision to women and children escaping and experiencing domestic violence and sexual abuse in NSW. If you would like to discuss how your donation may be used, please contact us.
