Women's Family Law Support Service

The Women’s Family Law Support Service (WFLSS) recently commenced operation at the Sydney Family Law Registry. The WFLSS is a joint project of the NSW Women’s Refuge Movement (WRM) and the Sydney Family Law Registry.

The aim of the service is to provide non-legal support, information and referrals for women attending the Sydney Family Law Registry in relation to separation, with a particular focus on women and children who are separating from a partner who is violent or abusive. This focus does not exclude other women accessing the service.

Support workers at the WFLSS assist women by providing support, information about the court process and the role of court staff, referral to other organisations, accompanying women to court appointments, help organise legal representation and arranging appropriate court security measures.

The WFLSS operates each Wednesday and Friday 9am-1pm at the Sydney Family Law Registry. During these hours, contact us on (02) 9217 7389 or wflss@bigpond.com Outside these service hours, you can call the WRMRC on (02) 9698 9777 or admin@wrrc.org.au
