Who's Involved?
Lesbian workers of the Women's Refuge Movement.

How often do we meet?
We meet prior to State Conference and are available to meet if Lesbian workers require the support of the group.

The Principals
To support the rights of all Lesbians within the Movement. To address and advocate concerning Lesbian issues i.e.: isolation in service / Homophobia / Discrimination and being a minority group.

Achievements
1. Lesbian D.V. Forum There were 52 women registered as attending the forum. The following services were represented:
· Sole Women's and Women and Children's Refuge.
· NSW Police Dept.
· Women's Refuge Resource Centre.
· Education Centre Against Violence.
· Probation Service.
· Women's Health, Illawarra.
· ACON - Women's Health, Illawarra.
· Dympna House.

2. Generic Lesbian brochures The Generic brochures were put together as a resource for Lesbian's accessing the service and for the wider community to allow them the opportunity to access other Lesbian sensitive services.

3. Questionaire for issues facing Lesbian workers.

4. List of refuges with Lesbian workers.

5. Car rally - fundraiser. To help raise money to assist with the expenses for a delegation of women from New Zealand to attend the WRM State Conference in Griffith to address setting up referral protocols for women escaping domestic violence coming from New Zealand to Australia

History
About 15 years ago Lesbian workers stood up at the State Conference in Gosford to address the need for a Lesbian Support Group. The WRM already had a Koori Support Group and a NESB Support Group. It was felt that Lesbian workers within the Movement being a minority group should also have the support of the larger group to address the issues surrounding isolation in their services / homophobia / discrimination.
